Radio may not be dying far as it being a "revenue stram" but it still is in critical condition as an entertainment medium...

The landscape has changed drastically the last few years, with layoffs galore by small and large owners alike, and local talent replaced by satellite-fed talent or talent from outside the market via voice-tracks.
A veritable cheapening of what was a more-profitable 'art form.'

The other problem over time will be the lack of diversity programming-wise, created by the insatiable desire of advertisers to coddle the 18-34 demographic. More and more, formats for the 50+ audience are becoming scarce, particularly on FM.

Bravo! So much propaganda coming from those"self serving pundits".
Thanks for this article. Let it serve as a "call to arms"
for everyone in radio. Digital platforms strengthen and prove that we are broadcasting beasts.
